BCWLE’s 2026 Conference & Awards Luncheon
BCWLE’s Annual Conference and Awards Luncheon is coming up on April 9, 2026 at the Coast Langley City Hotel & Convention Centre.

Keynote Speaker - Lana Starchuck
Record-holding formation skydiver and resilience strategist, Lana Starchuck helps leaders and teams act boldly in uncertain times. With over 1,000 skydives, she translates high-stakes experiences into practical strategies for courage, confidence, and growth. Drawing on 20+ years in communications, theatre, and video production, Lana blends storytelling, psychology, and humour to help audiences redefine failure, embrace risk, and expand their comfort zones.
For an additional fee, you can experience the ultimate confidence challenge—a tandem skydive with a pre-jump talk with Lana at Skydive Vancouver in the days following the conference. More information provided below.

Beacon Hill Park: A Decade-Long Major Crime Case
Sergeant Bob Iles and Detective Krissta Campbell of the Victoria Police Department, along with Crown Counsel Jeni Gillings, who will present a compelling overview of a decade-long Victoria Police Major Crime investigation into a 2014 aggravated assault and stabbing in Beacon Hill Park. Their presentation will highlight investigative persistence, inter-agency collaboration, and the critical role of evolving DNA technology, while exploring the intersection of criminal justice and mental health in Canada.
Practical Skills to Ensure Inclusion
Holly Stoner,Director at the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), will share her work championing CBSA’s regional women’s committee and advancing organizational change. Holly will discuss how she supports CBSA’s commitment to a diverse and inclusive workplace through innovative communication strategies and will present practical management skills to ensure inclusion.
Childcare Services Available
Complimentary childcare will be available on-site for non-school-aged children in a designated room at the host hotel. Childcare will be provided by 16-year-old female volunteers who have prior childcare experience and have successfully completed the St. John Ambulance Babysitting Course.

Pre-Conference Social
Kick off the conference by joining us for a casual social gathering the evening before. We will be hosting a Hospitality Suite Social on Wednesday from 7:00–10:00 PM. If you are staying at the hotel or live nearby, we invite you to drop in, connect with fellow members, and enjoy light snacks and refreshments in a relaxed setting. Skydive Vancouver Experience
Our keynote speaker, Lana Starchuk, is offering BCWLE members a unique opportunity to participate in two exclusive off-site tandem skydiving experiences with her at Skydive Vancouver 5112 Gladwin Rd, Abbotsford. The jumps will take place on Friday, April 10 at 12:00 PM and Saturday, April 11 at 12:00 PM (arrival at 11 AM).
In addition to the tandem skydive, Lana will guide participants through a series of mindset and resilience-building exercises designed to enhance confidence and leadership under pressure.
The cost is $329 per participant for either the Friday or Saturday jump. An optional video package is available for $99. To reserve your spot, please contact Debbie at info@skydivevancouver.com by March 30th,and mention that you are registering as part of BCWLE.
If you’re unavailable to attend on those dates, you can still take advantage of the above prices (without Lana) by emailing info@skydivevancouver.com and using the code BCWLE before July 11, 2026.
NOTE: This sport is weather-dependent. If the weather doesn’t cooperate for April 10th or 11th, participants will be responsible to book their own time before July 11th. Maximum weight restriction is 230 lbs.

There are NO cancellations; however, your ticket is transferable if you are no longer able to attend.
